Frequently asked Questions

  • What is the difference between PVC formwork panels and Tego plywood or yellow tiles in three layers?

PVC formwork boards are superior to Tego plywood or three-layered yellow tiles, as they have at least twice the degree of durability compared to them and withstand at least 40-50 formwork cycles. Although they do not require any additional treatment, they can be treated with decofrol, as in the case of wood plywood, to prolong their life.

PVC boards can be nailed and fastened with the same elements and formwork systems as Tego or yellow boards. Due to the plastic in the composition, the PVC panels wear evenly over time, without the risk of swelling in moisture. One difference between wood plywood and our boards is that PVC boards are more elastic and require 40-50 cm resistance poles. The high degree of elasticity makes PVC panels suitable for circular formwork.

  • Can PVC and WPC boards be produced in different sizes from the standard ones?

Yes, plastic or composite wood boards can be produced to a custom length and thickness for quantities of at least one cubic meter. However, the width is standard, 1300 mm and can only be changed by cutting the plate, the cost of cutting and any losses borne by the customer.

  • Can the plates withstand the external environment or in humid conditions?

Yes, of course. PVC plastic boards are completely waterproof and can be easily compared to insulated windows, as they are made mainly of the same material. WPC boards are not waterproof, but they have a very high resistance to moisture, much higher than wooden boards.

  • Are WPC decks suitable for terraces and floors, replacing WPC decks?

Not. The composite wood boards we sell have a slippery surface and, although they have excellent long-term wear resistance, the degree of durability is not as good as that of WPC decks for terraces and floors.

  • PVC and WPC boards are fire-resistant?

PVC and WPC boards are part of non-flammable, self-extinguishing products, class I (according to BS 476, Part 7). As a result, they do not maintain the flame, extinguish themselves and melt at a maximum temperature of 120℃.
